Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski - I personally found most of this book really boring, but I’ve heard it’s helpful for a lot of people for learning about the science of sex.
The Great Sex Rescue: The Lies You’ve Been Taught and How to Recover What God Intended - by Sheila Wray Regoire, Rebecca Gregoire Lindenbach, and Joanna Sawatsky. **Disclaimer: the authors of this book are evangelical Christians who take a stance that sex ought only to be within heterosexual marriage, so it is obviously not for everyone. I include this book on this list because the focus of the book is unpacking how so much of popular evangelical Christian literature on sex encourages or normalized sex that is unenjoyable, painful, and abusive. The authors argue that “Biblical sex” ought to be consensual and enjoyable for all involved. If you’re still within the church and received any sex messaging within the church during the 80’s onward, this book may help you dismantle abusive teachings without having to also dismiss your faith.
